Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American performer and actress. Born and raised in Huntington Woods Michigan as the daughter of Lorelei Frygier - a nurse and Tom Bell - a television director. She is an American actress and singer. Kristen is Polish (mother's) as well as German (father's), English, Irish and Scottish ancestry. Kristen found her talent in the world of entertainment when she was just a teenager. She won her role as Raggedy Ann in 1992 after going to the first audition. Bell had an agent appointed by her mother prior to the age 13 and she was subsequently hired as a model for television and newspaper commercials. Additionally, she began to take classes in acting privately. Bell played a brief, uncredited role as a character in Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell went to Shrine Catholic High School, which was where she participated in drama and music club. She was the star as Dorothy in the school's performance of The Wizard of Oz. Following graduation, Bell made the move in New York City to attend prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, where she was a musical theater student. Bell quit college in 2001 when she took the role of Becky for Tom Sawyer. In 2001, Bell made her first credit debut as Becky in Pootie Tang. However, her scene was cut out of the movie and her appearance was only as a credit. The year 2002 saw her first major role. Bell appeared as a character in the Broadway revival of The Crucible with Liam Neeson as well as Angela Bettis.
