Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenHe was enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark at the age of 27. He graduated in 1995. He also appeared on The Killing, a drama show that was broadcast across the globe. Then, he appeared in Those Who Kill II and Borgen III, two other well-known Danish dramas. He also played a major role in Sherlock the show, which is a BBC drama in which his character was Charles Augustus Magnussen, whose blackmailer. In the American TV show House of Cards, he played the president of Russia. He was awarded an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his role on the Danish drama on television Herrens Veje. It was broadcast in the UK in 2019 under the title Ride Upon the Storm. In addition to his home country of Danish, Mikkelsen speaks fluent Swedish, German and English, and he has mastered different accents. He has claimed that he and his brother initially started learning English through listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
